Free CERT Training!
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people on preparing for and responding to disasters that may impact their area. Participants receive 19-21 hours of training in disaster preparedness, fire safety and suppression, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, terrorism, disaster psychology and team organization. Using what they’ve learned in the classroom and during practice exercises, CERT members can prepare and protect their families and provide assistance in their neighborhood, school or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. Teen CERT Classes ~ November 15, 2012 - December 20, 2012 ~ Pace Center for Girls
BRACE, in cooperation with Pace Center for Girls, is pleased to offer Teen CERT classes to their students. This training is closed to the public.
Pace Center students will receive 19 hours of training. They will learn how to create an emergency supply kit, form a family emergency plan, practice triage and treatment of disaster survivors, put out a small fire, and many other life saving techniques. They will also receive 19 hours of community service upon completion of the training.
BRACE, through the Teen CERT Program, desires to establish a culture of preparedness by empowering our youth to help us become the most disaster resilient community in America!
CERT Training Workshop ~ January 17-19 & 26, 2013 ~ Bayview Park Community Center
BRACE, in cooperation with FRID [Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf] and Play Pensacola Parks & Recreation, is pleased to offer a CERT Training Workshop to the community. The training is open to FRID interpreters and all other interested participants.
