Free CERT Training!

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people on preparing for and responding to disasters that may impact their area. Participants receive 21 hours of training in disaster preparedness, fire safety and suppression, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, terrorism, disaster psychology and team organization. Using what they’ve learned in the classroom and during practice exercises, CERT members can prepare and protect their families and provide assistance in their neighborhood, school or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. à BRACE, in cooperation with Heather Chenoweth of Bayview Park and Dean Jewel Cannada-Wynn of Escambia High School, is offering a Teen CERT Camp to all interested high school students 14 to 18 years of age. The camp is FREE. Lunch, snacks, beverages and camp t-shirts will also be provided. Download the flyer and forms at EVENTS and return completed documents to JoAnn Howansky, CERT Coordinator, by fax at (850) 444-7117 or email at certvista@bereadyalliance.org. Please bring originals, including notarized release form, with you to the first day of camp. The deadline to register is Friday, June 1, 2012.
