BRACE hosted the First Annual BRACE Hurricane Hoedown – a friendraiser – on Friday, February 26 at the SandersBeachCommunity Center in downtown Pensacola. The BRACE Hurricane Hoedown is a fun opportunity for the community to learn more about BRACE in a casual and entertaining atmosphere. The first BRACE Hurricane Hoedown featured live music by Cross Town Band and country line dancing led by award-winning dancer Shannon Erdwins of Shannon Productions, dinner, a silent auction, raffles, and western-themed photo backgrounds.
BRACE leads a collaboration of nearly 400 organizations supporting Escambia County Emergency Management in the coordination of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
“The SandersBeachCommunity Center provided the perfect location for our first BRACE Hurricane Hoedown,” says Greg Strader, Executive Director of BRACE. “After being destroyed by Hurricane Ivan, the new SandersBeachCommunity Center was built to higher building standards and is an excellent example of the mitigation and preparation efforts that can make such a difference to our community. We are excited to host this fun and unique opportunity for the community to learn more about BRACE and our various programs throughout Northwest Florida.”
