Dr. Nick Jackson named new BRACE CEO

Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies (BRACE) is honored to announce that local Dr. Nick Jackson is the new Chief Executive Officer. The Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies (BRACE) is a nonprofit organization based in Pensacola whose mission is to make communities disaster-resilient through public-private partnerships. BRACE is nationally known for its commitment to partnerships by fostering communication, cooperation, collaboration and coordination among community, faith-based, non-profit, private and public organizations, and individuals active in one or more functions of emergency management. BRACE received FEMA’s distinguished “Awareness to Action” Award for spearheading Escambia County Florida’s disaster volunteer and donations program, and for leading the county’s Long-term Recovery Group which coordinates assistance to families whose homes were damaged or destroyed in a weather-related disaster. BRACE has also received several honorable mentions for FEMA’s John D. Solomon Whole Community Preparedness category. BRACE believes that emergency management is most effective when the whole community is engaged and involved. Faith-based organizations, service agencies, businesses and associations, tribal organizations, youth and older Americans, people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs can make a real difference in their communities before, during, and after disasters.

Prior to joining BRACE, Dr. Jackson worked with Escambia River Electric Cooperative, Inc. With over 24 years of public service to both Escambia and Santa Rosa counties and numerous leadership roles, Nick brings passion for serving others along with his knowledge and drive to guide BRACE in its disaster readiness, response, and recovery programs in Escambia County and throughout the state of Florida.
